Our local rocks are much too hard to be eroded by feet, even if walked on for hundreds of years. But Hell Lane is very impressive.

I know what you mean about being lost but not lost. We've had that happen sometimes. Most recently we went up the wrong side of a stream and when the "path" ran out, had to clamber through brambles and ford the stream to get back on the correct side.
