It is always, always a mistake to browse the Sarah Raven catalogue, which has the most beautifully photographed flowers of any of the plant catalogues.

I succumbed to moderate temptation, and ended up ordering pots of Erigeron karvinskianus 'Profusion', Salvia patens 'Beyond blue', and some Icelandic poppy seedlings. Managed to resist all the exquisite £30 container-plant collections. And the gorgeous dahlias. Where would I plant dahlias?

Consider this a bribe. A bribe of plants. To make myself empty 8 pots of gone-over tulips (I like tulips, okay?), and get the pots ready to plant up for summer.

Will need to buy compost (a lot of compost) locally. And maybe a couple of trays of Bacopa and Verbena. Not sure if I'm going to bother with any Pelargoniums this year - they didn't do too well in the peat-free compost I bought last year.
