Where five tracks meet, three gentlemen stood chatting, while a pack of six amiable dogs milled round: spaniels, wire-haired hounds, one terrier, and a very bouncy young black labrador.
Max not being amiable, he and I waited in the trees for the pack to disperse. Prediction: each of the three gentlemen would depart accompanied by two dogs. Actuality: two gentlemen set off along one track with the young black labrador, and the remaining gentleman departed in another direction in the company of five dogs.
