A Sunday morning walk through the nature reserve at Kilwood, where the bluebells and the stitchwort are in flower, and Peacock butterflies are waking from hibernation.

A white carpet of Wild Garlic flowers in the hazel coppice.

Rather a muddy walk in places (the Manchester Terrier protested - she does not approve of mud) but passable with a little balancing along logs, a little creeping along banks, and a little leaping.
Afterwards, coffee and a croissant at the little tea room at East Creech, which has just re-opened for the summer season, sitting at a table outside in the almost-warm sunshine, with three lycra-clad mountain bikers to one side, and on the other side a couple with three Labradors sitting to fervent attention: Sunday morning cake worshippers.
