Autumn's here

The wind is back in the south-west, finally - finally! - cold & lively, and bearing a surprise gift of blustery showers. After months of murky horizons and everything being covered in dust, the air is washed clean. In the village this morning, the scent of rain-battered lavender. Out in the forest, all the spider webs hung with raindrops.

I'm so glad you finally got some rain. We've had quite a lot today and we had a wet walk this morning. This afternoon has been much wetter, though the rain has stopped at last.

It rained so hard just before dawn that the roads were flooded in places on my drive to work this morning. The weather is making up for lost time!

How nice to get rid of all that dust. That kind of happens here too. So refreshing!

Yes! The air is looking amazingly clear - the hills seem to have moved closer!
