November Woods
Nov. 8th, 2025 01:35 pm
Bright sunshine, after a night of heavy rain, and in the woods the ghost of last night's rain still dripping from the branches.
Left the car in the little car park on the ridge above Affpuddle, and set off to explore the bridleways through the woods, no particular destination in mind.

The tracks a little wet in places. Not quite muddy enough yet for me to wish I had worn wellingtons.

Walked as far as the edge of the woods, but the fields looked rather muddy, so decided not to follow the bridleway down to the valley bottom and the village of Affpuddle.

Spot the Greater Spotted Woodpecker.

Back into the woods.

Lovely mixed planting in these woods - pines & firs & cypresses, oaks & beeches & sweet chestnuts.

Date: 2025-11-09 10:25 am (UTC)I bought a cheap circular polarizing filter for my camera, and was having a play around yesterday. It did make the shots very dark though, so I ended up having to use higher ISO than I normally like. Next time I should take a tripod.
Yesterday was fabulous for walking. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day in November.
