Dusking 4

Strange weather. A grey fog hanging round the edges of things all day, smoke-like, but not smelling of smoke. As I was driving home, the sun, seen through the fog, was pale as the moon. Of course, by the time I got home and rushed out with the camera, the sun had vanished. No sunset at all. So I wandered round the forest practising the art of dusking.

Walked to the place where the bridleways cross, with the light failing, then turned and retraced my steps with darkness falling, navigating as much by the buzz of the pylons as by the pale gravel tracks.

Where the path passes beneath the oaks, darkness and fog made the way was very gloomy indeed, I finally gave up and switched my torch on.

Headlights
Oncoming headlights, snatched at ISO 12800. I ran it through the AI Noise Reduction function on Lightroom, which certainly made the image less grainy, but which also did something really unsettling to the tree branches above the road. More of an AI Creepification function really.

I was rather surprised by the fog when I left work yesterday. More at the coast than slightly inland, as might be expected - though it was more dense in Wool this morning.
