So far we seem to be having a traditional British summer. The sun is pleasantly warm when it stops raining, which it does, from time to time.
On days off, the washing is hung out, then twenty minutes later there's a dash outside to rescue the washing, with cries of, "Oh, make up your mind, weather!"
Our early morning walks through the forest are sometimes accompanied by the rain drumming on my umbrella, sometimes by cold and damp and mist and sunlight and honeysuckle scent.
8 degrees C at 6am this morning, which is a little on the chilly side for July. But that's fine. I'd rather be wearing gloves in July than dealing with a heatwave.

Date: 2022-07-05 04:03 pm (UTC)I was surprised how yellow the grass was looking after all the rain we had in June, but down by the coast the soil is really thin, so the fields always look parched in summer.
