Currently re-reading Bleak House, and the waters are out in Lincolnshire. I go back to Bleak House every few years - one of my favourite Dickens - and it's always a joy to make the reaquaintance of little Miss Flite, Sergeant George & the Bagnets, Inspector Bucket (whose superpower is geniality).

Sci-fi & fantasy

No new books bought last month, no new authors discovered in a while. But Martha Wells has a new fantasy, Witch King, due out in May 2023, and Ann Leckie has a new Radch book, Translation State, due out in June 2023, so we'll have to hope human civilisation totters on till summer.

Television

Gave up on Korean dramas Love in Contract and Mental Coach Jegal Both started promisingly before swiftly running out of steam. And the characters weren't subtle or interesting enough to make up for the lack of dramatic tension.

Series finished:

Bad Prosecutor on Viki.com. Action/law. Cartoonish, but a lot of fun, and the choreography of the fight and chase scenes is brilliant.

One Dollar Lawyer on Bilibili. Lighthearted "good lawyer fighting for the poor" drama. The story arc is a bit weird - I think they cut a few episodes out at some point - but it starts well, builds up nicely, hiccups, then ends splendidly.

Big Mouth on Bilibili. Prison/revenge drama. Didn't think I'd like this, as the male lead starts off cocky and incompetent, but he doesn't stay that way. Very addictive.

Now rewatching series 2 of Nirvana in Fire on Viki.com. Because AvenueX mentioned that the script for season 3 is now completed! Wonder who they will cast?
