The vet persuaded me to try Max on monthly monoclonal antibody injections - they're supposed to work as well as anti-inflammatory medication, but without the side effects. I can't say I've noticed any improvement in Max's arthritis yet. He's still very stiff.

But a quick dip in the Tea Brown Lake this afternoon did produce an immediate rejuvenating effect:
