Red Tulips, at Holme

Grey sky yesterday, no sun. But the softer light was actually pretty good for photographing bright red tulips, so I ventured over to Holme.







I timed my visit a bit late this year. The tulips in the Hot Colours Garden were still putting on an amazing display, but elsewhere most of the tulips were starting to go over.

The Cynara cardunculus is very fond of its tulips...

Ah! You're ahead of us on the spring flower gradient by at least three weeks. Lovely tulips.

Yes, we're already nearing the end of tulip season here... But I think there are still a few weeks, or maybe a month to go until rose season. Not sure what I'll find to photograph in those few weeks!
