The Secret Garden in the rain

In the Secret Garden, the salvias and penstemons doing their best to brighten the grey day:


Rainy days are best for trying to photograph those wickedly bright pink penstemons.


Sambuca nigra 'Black Lace', I think. The contrast of pale pink sprays of flowers and dark foliage is spectacularly beautiful.

Lovely, lovely rain. Everyone in the supermarket this morning was moaning about the weather, except me. The rain has cheered me up no end. I did have to take shelter in the greenhouse, with the pelargoniums, at one point, during a particularly heavy downpour, but the pelargoniums proved to be good company.
