As the crow flies

Met up with C. and her terrier for a walk. A very grey morning. The wind is supposed to be swinging round to the north in the next few days, and winter arriving, but today wasn't too bad, around 10 degrees C, and the wind not too fierce. Not much light for photography, but still a pleasant peaceful walk across the sombre heath. Brown heather, bronze bracken, dun grasses, silver birches almost stripped of leaves.

Silver Birch

Saw the hairy piggies who roam the heath, rootling away in one of the grassy areas near the road, in the company of a great flock of Fieldfares who were feeding on the disturbed ground.

Fieldfares, disturbed
Fieldfares and a Buzzard (I think - not a clear enough shot to make out any details).

It has been very grey, but at least after it stopped raining on Friday, it's been dry. It was noticeably colder as our daughter drove us home. I nipped out of the car at the first view point to take photos, but at the second one, I told here I'd already got photos from there taken some years ago, and I stayed in the car! Mind you, colder feel more right for the time of the year. It was very warm and humid last week.

Nevermore!

Oh, I would love to see the piggies.

It feels blinking chilly today, although always good to see the sun. I was struck by how blue/green the sea was at Weymouth yesterday.
