Holme Gardens in March
Mar. 20th, 2022 02:06 pm
Silence. (The "statues" at Holme aren't really statues, they're concrete garden ornaments, and this one must have tipped over at some point. Her head has been cemented back on.)
The sun is warm, the wind is bitter, and at Holme the tulips are coming into flower...

The March wind is biting cold, and someone stole her cardie...

Buds on the Cornus.

Forsythia.

Before you even pass through the narrow wooden gate into the gardens, you can smell the hyacinths.

Someone told me what this was last year... but that was a year ago, and I've forgotten.

Date: 2022-03-21 05:41 pm (UTC)It was rather a challenging day for flower photography - everything bobbing about in a strong east wind... But these were a few of the less blurry shots!
