January Heath
Jan. 15th, 2023 12:24 pm
Met up with C. and her Manchester Terrier for a walk across the January heath. The sun came out, and the gorse was in flower, and the robins were singing. But, except where the path winds through the shelter of the gorse clumps, the westerly wind was bitterly cold.

After weeks of heavy rain, every path is a path of puddles, even on the sandy heath. But all bar two of the puddles were shallow enough or small enough for even a puddle-averse Manchester Terrier to tiptoe through or leap over, albeit with a long-suffering expression.
