The Forest in the Rain

Out in the forest at noon, it was so dark that a Tawny Owl was hooting.








And this is why there hasn't been much photography lately.

Yeah, this is one wet winter we are having...

We have had an awful lot of rain too. The flooding at the bottom of our gardens persisted overnight. It normally goes down more quickly than that. It is currently dry and tomorrow should be dry, so I'll try for a walk then, but it will just be up to visit my elderly friend.

Everywhere is just so wet. The ditches are full and there's nowhere for the water to drain. I don't think I've ever seen the paths through the forest quite so wet.

An atmospheric walk. But strangely, all that over-the-top gloom and endless rain was rather cheering.
