Swell Wood in the rain

A walk around the RSPB nature reserve at Swell Wood, with the rain pattering down. Followed the Scarp Loop, an up-and-down path through the woods on the side of a ridge overlooking the Levels.




The lane down to West Sedgemoor, with the Somerset Levels fading into rain in the distance.

Into the woods...









From the foot of the hill, glimpses of the Levels.





What comes down, must go up...





Because it was raining, I took my wet weather camera, the secondhand Pentax, which rather supersaturates the green!

Those deep, jewel-toned greens!

It was very, very green. Maybe not quite as green as my camera thought, but still very green!

The top picture reminds me of the Japanese garden in Portland, Oregon.

I shall be visiting Japanese Gardens soon. Maple season is almost upon us!
