Friday haiku
Feb. 27th, 2022 02:41 pmCrossposted from Livejournal in case LJ vanishes in a puff of malice...
***
18th February 2022
Once I saw the moon
On a dark night in the woods:
Heart, don't be greedy.
***
11th February 2022
Venus keeps shining
When all the stars have faded
Blackbirds start to sing
***
4th February 2022
The wind shakes the pines
Quiet darkness here below
Raging sea above
***
28th January 2022
Grey days, starless nights.
It's hard to write a haiku
when there's no weather.
***
21st January 2022
Fog makes mysteries
Of industrial estates
And the bin lorry.
***
31st December 2021
Winter rains. Deep mud.
Left foot sinks, right foot slithers.
No-one's seen the sun.
***
5th November 2021
Crescent moon at dawn
Watching the doe and her child.
Hoofprints in the frost.
***
29th October 2021
Between two towers
of moonlit cloud: Orion.
Glory is fleeting.
***
22nd October 2021
Dark path through the pines
The moon wanders in the cloud
Owls ask who I am
***
15th October 2021
Tawny owls calling
The white star in the black pines
Shines coldest at dawn

Date: 2022-02-28 02:51 pm (UTC)I have been visiting Dreamwidth and your journal from time to time, furtively! I always love your writing.
The slow drift from LJ to Dreamwidth has become something of a riptide in the last few days... Even I've been carried along on it. But on the positive side, I hope to re-connect with many friends.
