Hairy piggies

A new thing, piggies. They've joined the ponies and cattle turned out on the heath, as part of a rewilding project. I wonder how they get along with with the ponies. (I'm glad I'm not riding on the heath these days. My mare used to object strongly to piggies...)

I don't know what it is about pigs, but many horses seem to hate/fear them. Even just the smell can trigger panicky behaviour.

Yes, a friend's old thoroughbred used to be terrified of them. Just the scent of them in the distance would have him sweating up.

Charm wasn't that bad. She just used to produce a Dutch Warmblood extended trot every time we passed a field with pigs in.
