Holme Gardens, March

Magnolia stellata 'Royal Star'.
March was being very March-like this morning. Warm sun on my back, bitter cold wind blowing in my face. And vice versa. Walked round the forest. Mowed the lawn for the first time this year (carefully swerving round most of the daisies). Then headed over to Holme Gardens to enjoy the scent of the hyacinths, the sight of magnolia flowers against the March sky.
It was rather a windy day for flower photography - everything moving - but have some slightly blurry shots anyway...

So many varieties of magnolia! Most of the trees are rather tiny still, only recently planted, but already flowering beautifully.

The camellias also in flower.

Prunus 'Kojo-no-mai'.

Pear blossom.

Tiny daffodils! So tiny! I don't know the variety, but I had to lie down on the wet grass to take the photo.

Primulas & Anemone blanda.

Botanical tulips and Grape Hyacinth planted on the grass banks of the amphitheatre.

The winter heathers are starting to go over in the Henge Garden, but the Cornus is still looking spectacular.
