On Friday afternoon, a visit to the garden centre, to try and buy a houseplant. The Weeping Fig that I bought there a few months ago lived up to its name and shed all its leaves. It was never happy, poor thing. I thought I might try and buy something a bit more robust - maybe an aspidistra would do the trick? - but none of the houseplants in the shop looked particularly thriving, and they were all in tiny pots, and would need to be re-potted after I bought them.

So instead of a potted plant, I bought a pot of tea, and a slice of cake from the café, and sat outside in the dazzling January sunshine, sipping tea with my eyes closed.

I like the haiku, but stumble a bit with how it's punctuated.

Yes. I was struggling a bit. A good haiku shouldn't need heavy-handed punctuation...
