Walled Garden, Wimpole Hall

On my recent visit to Cambridgeshire, I was lured to visit Wimpole Hall by the prospect of a National Trust pot of tea and a scone.

In the walled garden, it was warm. Except in the greenhouses, where it was very warm indeed.

The gardener is very fond of Rose Campions. (My camera is not. Insists on seeing them as pink blobs.)

Ornamental Grass, Wimpole Hall
The gardener is also fond of ornamental grasses. Not really my favourite thing, but they did look stunning planted beside the Eryngium.

Jumping Spider. A second later it pounced, but far too quickly for me to photograph.

Can't have a walled garden without salvia, right?

Such lovely displays! I would imagine that the greenhouses were stifling in this weather.
