Winter sunlight
Feb. 8th, 2025 09:54 am
Today it's 4 degrees C. Lovely weekend weather - grey, cold, drizzle & murk. (Sounds like a very old firm of solicitors: Grey, Colde, Drizzell & Murk. The perfect people for your Chancery case... ). But at least I had a day off on Thursday, and got to see the sunshine then.

The Japanese Garden.

Prunus x subhirtella.

Date: 2025-02-09 08:42 am (UTC)I made the most of the light, & took my 50mm Sigma lens on the outing so that I could play around with shooting at f1.8 / f2...

Date: 2025-02-09 08:49 am (UTC)There is one place in the garden where bamboo grows next to a stand of dark yews, and on a bright day the play of light & shadow there is fabulous.
The tiny Japanese Garden at Kingston Lacy is fenced off and visitors can only admire it from outside, so I always struggle to find a way to photograph it. This time I had a play around with shooting at f1.8 / f2.
