First chiffchaff

A mild morning. Light drizzle in the air - too light to disturb the surface of puddles. Out in the forest, the first chiffchaff of the year, singing hesitantly.

In the village, pink blossom appearing on the ornamental cherry. Grape hyacinths and daffodils in flower.

I will listen out for the chiffchaff. I think it's a robin that has started singing very early around 5 a.m. before it's even starting to get light.

I only heard the first chiffchaff of the year in the forest yesterday. But today, walking through the fields, there were chiffchaffs everywhere! Spring must be here...

It's the blackbirds that wake me up most mornings, before it gets light. They're quite loud. But at least they're melodious, unlike the Great-tits.
