Apr. 6th, 2024 11:15 amA morning without rain - this is a novelty. But still very grey, no light for photography. A strong southwesterly wind pretending to be mild and kind, while trying to blow the blossom off the neighbour's crab apple tree.
In sheltered places, new leaves are appearing on the trees. Catkins on the willows. But we seem to be stuck in a repeated rinse cycle: rain, gales, floods. Will the fields and the woods ever dry out?
Monday was a notable day. I saw the sun. And, as I was working from home, managed to nip out for a lunchtime walk around the forest. Got to make a fuss of three dogs; a cockerpoo, a border collie, and a blue-eyed husky (who came up and said hello three times, for luck).
