Took a walk through the gardens at Kingston Maurward. A very March-like morning. When the sun came out, it felt like spring. When the sun vanished behind towering white clouds, it felt like winter. Wrens singing their hearts out. The rooks refurbishing their nests, and very noisy about it.

I was too late to see the crocuses in the Spring Garden, too early to see the magnolias. But the daffodils were putting on a fine display in the bitter north wind. The first few Anemone blanda starting to appear.

By the lake, catkins on the willows, and queen bumblebees thrumming through the catkins. Swans tidying their nests in the reeds. The mallards and moorhens swimming in pairs, and a poor lonely gadwall all on his own.

A day of impressive clouds.
Sat for a while in the Walled Garden, where there is a sheltered bench beside the greenhouse, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the singing of the robins. And when the sun vanished, nipped into the greenhouse, where the orchids don't care much about the seasons.
