In the gardens at Holme, the sun is shining, the Peacock butterflies are out of hibernation, and the scent of hyacinths is almost strong enough to knock you off your feet...

The first day of Spring was remarkably spring-like, for the UK!

It is! After so much gloom, suddenly sunshine and flowers again!

I think we may pay a visit on Wednesday...

Wednesday is our 'going places' day of the week. No grandchildren on Wednesday. Of course, in school holidays, we take the 10 year old with us! She loves gardens too.

The tulips and magnolias aren't quite out yet at Holme - I think probably another week before they start to flower. But the daffodils, hyacinths and scillas are fabulous.

Wednesdays is a good 'going places' day, much quieter than the weekends. And Cranborne Manor Gardens are open!
